From the Christopher Phillips Rare Seed Collection R8--Release #8 on October 29, 2015 --- This is visually an amazing variety for many reasons. This Capsicum annuum was said to be discovered in Guatemala. The plants are the image of beauty since the leaves, stems, flowers and non-ripe fruits are purple! The plants grow quite large over time and produce pequin-type fruits about 0.5 to 0.75 inches long that ripen to a very bright red. Bright red fruit on an all purple plant caught Christopher's attention. The fruits drop right off the calyx at the ripe stage. The peppers have some nice heat and are very juicy with thin flesh. If you enjoy pequin types and the unusual, do not miss this treasure.
